Ammo AllWormer

AMMO Allwormer

Broad-spectrum horse wormer containing Abamectin and Morantel for the treatment and control of tapeworms, roundworms, bots and other susceptible internal parasites.

AMMO Allwormer is a broad-spectrum equine worming treatment formulated with Abamectin and Morantel, two active ingredients that work through different mechanisms to provide comprehensive parasite control.

It is indicated for the treatment and control of a wide range of important equine parasites, including tapeworms, large and small strongyles, pinworms, roundworms, bots, lungworms, intestinal threadworms and other susceptible parasites.

AMMO Allwormer also controls benzimidazole-resistant strains of small strongyles as specified on the product information.

A convenient 32.5g dial-a-dose syringe treats a horse weighing up to 600kg.

Active Ingredients

AMMO Allwormer combines Abamectin and Morantel, providing two different modes of action against susceptible equine parasites.

How Abamectin Works

Abamectin acts on specific chloride channels within susceptible invertebrate nerve and muscle cells.

This disrupts normal nerve and muscle activity, leading to paralysis and death of susceptible parasites.

Abamectin provides activity against a broad range of equine internal parasites as well as susceptible bot stages.

How Morantel Works

Morantel acts as a depolarising neuromuscular blocking agent.

It interferes with normal neuromuscular activity within susceptible parasites, producing sustained muscle contraction followed by paralysis.

The combination of Abamectin and Morantel provides broad parasite coverage in a convenient oral formulation.

Parasites Treated & Controlled

AMMO Allwormer is indicated for the treatment and control of susceptible stages of the following equine parasites:

Tapeworms

  • Anoplocephala perfoliata

Large Strongyles

  • Strongylus vulgaris – adult and larval stages
  • Strongylus edentatus – adult and tissue stages
  • Strongylus equinus – adult stages

Small Strongyles

Including specified benzimidazole-resistant strains of adult and immature:

  • Cyathostomum spp.
  • Cycliocyclus spp.
  • Cylicostephanus spp.
  • Cylicodontophorus spp.
  • Gyalocephalus spp.

Also controls adult:

  • Triodontophorus spp.

Pinworm

  • Oxyuris equi – adult and immature stages

Roundworm

  • Parascaris equorum – adult and immature stages

Hairworm

  • Trichostrongylus axei – adults

Neck Threadworm

  • Onchocerca spp. – microfilariae

Bots

  • Gasterophilus spp. – susceptible oral and gastric stages

Lungworm

  • Dictyocaulus arnfieldi – adult and immature stages

Intestinal Threadworm

  • Strongyloides westeri – adults

Large-Mouthed Stomach Worm

  • Habronema muscae – adults

Skin-Associated Parasite Control

AMMO Allwormer is also indicated for the control of susceptible parasite stages associated with certain skin lesions, including:

  • Habronema spp. cutaneous larvae
  • Draschia spp. cutaneous larvae associated with summer sores
  • Onchocerca spp. microfilariae associated with cutaneous onchocerciasis

Skin lesions should be professionally assessed where they are persistent, extensive, infected or have not been definitively diagnosed, as many unrelated conditions can produce similar appearances.

Dosage & Administration

Horses:
The contents of one 32.5g syringe are sufficient to treat one horse weighing 600kg.

Doses are measured in millilitres and correspond with the markings on the dial-a-dose syringe.

Foals & Ponies:
Administer 5mL per 100kg bodyweight.

Correct bodyweight estimation is important to ensure the horse receives the appropriate dose.

Safety Information

According to the supplied product information, AMMO Allwormer is suitable for use in:

  • Pregnant mares
  • Foals over four weeks of age
  • Debilitated animals
  • Convalescent animals

Always follow the current product label for complete directions, precautions, contraindications and withholding information.

Responsible Worming

Effective parasite management involves more than repeatedly administering wormers at fixed intervals.

Where practical, an equine parasite-control program should consider:

  • Faecal egg counts
  • Individual horse parasite burdens
  • Property stocking density
  • Pasture and manure management
  • Age and health of horses
  • Previous worming history
  • Local parasite risks
  • Anthelmintic resistance

Using wormers unnecessarily or repeatedly without considering parasite burden can contribute to anthelmintic resistance, reducing the effectiveness of important worming treatments over time.

A veterinarian can assist in developing an appropriate parasite-control program for individual horses or an entire property.

Important Information

AMMO Allwormer is a veterinary parasite-control product and should be administered strictly according to the current registered product label.

Accurately estimate or weigh the horse before dosing and ensure the complete calculated dose is swallowed.

Parasite species and resistance patterns can vary between horses and properties. Persistent parasite problems, unexplained weight loss, recurrent colic, diarrhoea, poor condition or suspected heavy parasite burdens should be discussed with a veterinarian.

Always check the current packaging for withholding periods, safety directions, storage requirements and other mandatory label information before use.
