Injectable Adenosine Monophosphate

NV AMP-5 Injection is an injectable veterinary preparation containing Adenosine-5-Monophosphate (AMP) 200 mg/mL, for athletic horses where additional circulatory and muscle support is required.

Used for its vasodilatory action, increasing blood flow to working tissues and supporting the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to skeletal and cardiac muscle during hard training, racing and strenuous exercise.

Supplied as a concentrated injectable solution for intramuscular use only.

Circulation & Working Muscle Support

During strenuous exercise, working muscles have substantially increased requirements for oxygen, nutrients and energy. AMP-5 produces vasodilation, increasing circulation to skeletal and cardiac muscle and supporting normal removal of metabolic by-products from working tissues. By supporting circulation to muscle, it may form part of the veterinary management of horses susceptible to muscle cramping or tying-up.

• Production of coronary vasodilation in anticipation of severe cardiac load in athletic animals

AMP-5 may be used as part of a broader performance program alongside products such as Creatine, Tripart and Cophos B where appropriate, under veterinary guidance.

Directions

Horses: administer 10 mL by intramuscular injection, 24 hours and again 4 hours before hard work, or as directed by a veterinary surgeon.Critical warning: AMP-5 must ONLY be given by intramuscular injection. Do not administer intravenously under any circumstances – intravenous administration may cause a profound and rapid fall in blood pressure, potentially resulting in collapse or death.

Injections should only be given as directed by a veterinarian or by an experienced person using sterile equipment. Check the label for withholding periods, and for racing or competition horses confirm detection times with your veterinarian. Do not use in animals with known sensitivity to any ingredient. Always read the label before use and consult your veterinarian or the manufacturer if your horse is unwell, pregnant or on other treatment. Keep out of reach of children. Recurrent tying-up, collapse, abnormal heart rhythm or unexplained exercise intolerance require veterinary assessment.
