AMP-5 Injection
Adenosine monophosphate formulation for circulatory and muscle support in performance horses.
AMP-5 is an injectable veterinary preparation containing Adenosine-5-Monophosphate (AMP) 200mg/mL, formulated for use in athletic horses where additional circulatory and muscle support is required.
AMP-5 is used for its vasodilatory action, increasing blood flow to working tissues and supporting the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to skeletal and cardiac muscle during periods of increased physical demand.
It is commonly incorporated into performance horse management programs where support for muscle circulation, fatigue and cramping is required.
Key Features & Benefits
- Contains Adenosine-5-Monophosphate – 200mg/mL
- Produces vasodilation to support increased blood flow
- Supports circulation to skeletal and cardiac muscle
- Helps support oxygen and nutrient delivery to working muscles
- Supports normal removal of metabolic by-products from working tissues
- Formulated for athletic horses undergoing strenuous exercise
- Used in the management of muscle cramping and tying-up
- May be used alongside other performance supplements where appropriate
- Concentrated injectable formulation
Circulation & Working Muscle Support
During strenuous exercise, working muscles have substantially increased requirements for oxygen, nutrients and energy.
AMP-5 produces vasodilation, which increases blood circulation to skeletal and cardiac muscle. Improved circulation supports the delivery of oxygen and essential nutrients while assisting normal metabolic processes within working tissues.
This action makes AMP-5 particularly relevant to horses experiencing the demands of hard training, racing and strenuous exercise.
Muscle Fatigue & Cramping
As exercise intensity increases, changes occur within working muscle that contribute to fatigue.
By supporting circulation to muscle tissue, AMP-5 may form part of the veterinary management of horses susceptible to muscle cramping or tying-up.
Recurrent tying-up should always be investigated by a veterinarian, as several underlying muscular, metabolic, dietary and management-related conditions can contribute to these episodes.
Cardiac Circulation
The labelled indications for AMP-5 include the production of coronary vasodilation in anticipation of severe cardiac load in athletic animals, as well as use in cases of myocardial oxygen deficit evidenced by performance-linked ECG changes.
Cardiac abnormalities and ECG changes require veterinary diagnosis and supervision. AMP-5 should not be used as a substitute for appropriate investigation of suspected heart problems.
Indications
- Production of coronary vasodilation in anticipation of severe cardiac load in athletic animals
- Treatment of myocardial oxygen deficit as evidenced by performance-linked ECG changes
- Muscle cramp and tying-up prevention
Dosage & Administration
Horses: Administer 10mL by intramuscular injection, 24 hours and again 4 hours before hard work.
Always administer according to the current product label or as directed by a veterinary surgeon.
Composition
Each mL contains:
Adenosine-5-Monophosphate – 200mg/mL
Use With Other Performance Supplements
AMP-5 may be used as part of a broader performance management program alongside products such as Creatine, Tripart and Cophos B, where appropriate.
When combining supplements or injectable preparations, veterinary guidance is recommended to ensure the overall program is appropriate for the individual horse.
⚠️ Critical Administration Warning
AMP-5 Injection must ONLY be administered by intramuscular injection.
DO NOT ADMINISTER AMP-5 INTRAVENOUSLY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
Intravenous administration may cause a profound and rapid fall in blood pressure, potentially resulting in collapse or death.
Important Information
AMP-5 is an injectable veterinary product. Correct injection technique, hygiene and handling procedures should always be followed.
Horses experiencing recurrent tying-up, severe muscle cramping, collapse, abnormal heart rhythm, poor recovery or unexplained exercise intolerance require veterinary assessment.
Always follow the current product label and check applicable racing and competition regulations before administration to performance horses.
