Aluminium Race Bar Front Shoe

The Jim Blurton Aluminium Race Bar Front Shoe is a lightweight aircraft-grade aluminium bar shoe with a steel toe insert, designed for Thoroughbred racehorses needing bar-shoe support while still performing fast work.

Designed for Thoroughbreds requiring heel support without unnecessarily adding weight to the foot, it is available with Toe Clips or Quarter Clips.

Drop forged from aircraft-grade aluminium and heat-treated to optimise wear, the shoe can still be reshaped by the farrier for an individual fit.

Steel Toe Insert

The latest version incorporates a steel insert through the toe, providing additional durability and wear resistance where ground contact is greatest, combining the lightweight advantages of aluminium with reinforcement where it is needed most.

Heel-Shaped Radius Bar

Rather than extending as a bulky straight bar behind the foot, the radius bar follows the natural shape of the heel bulbs, providing support while maintaining a streamlined profile. Safed-off heels complete the finish around the back of the shoe.

Roll Toe & Pitched Nail Holes

A rolled toe provides a purpose-designed breakover feature, and each nail hole is pitched at a different angle to assist nail placement and make the shoe easier to nail on.
