Butaphosphan – Available Phosphorus Support

Butaphosphan is an organic phosphorus compound that provides a readily available source of phosphorus.

Phosphorus is an essential mineral involved in numerous physiological processes and is particularly important in cellular energy metabolism.

It forms part of high-energy phosphate compounds including ATP and ADP, which play central roles in the storage and transfer of energy throughout the body.

For performance horses, these energy pathways are particularly important within hardworking skeletal muscle.

Vitamin B12 Support

Coforta also contains Cyanocobalamin (Vitamin B12), an essential vitamin involved in normal cellular metabolism and red blood cell formation.

Adequate Vitamin B12 status helps support normal physiological function and is particularly relevant during periods of increased nutritional or metabolic demand.

Energy & Muscle Recovery

Training, racing and strenuous exercise increase the energy requirements of working muscle and can place significant demands on the horse's normal metabolic processes.

By providing butaphosphan and Vitamin B12, Coforta offers targeted support for normal energy metabolism and recovery following demanding exercise.

It may be incorporated into the management of performance horses during periods of intensive training or competition under veterinary guidance.

Appetite & General Condition

Periods of hard work, travel, illness, surgery or recovery can sometimes be accompanied by changes in appetite and general condition.

Coforta may be used as part of a broader veterinary management program to provide additional metabolic support during these periods.

Persistent appetite loss, weight loss or poor condition should always be investigated to determine the underlying cause.

Active Constituents

Each mL contains:

  • Butaphosphan – 100mg/mL
  • Cyanocobalamin (Vitamin B12) – 50µg/mL

Important Information

Coforta is an injectable veterinary product. Correct injection technique, hygiene and handling procedures should always be followed.

While Coforta may provide metabolic and nutritional support during recovery, it should not replace appropriate veterinary diagnosis or treatment following illness, surgery or unexplained poor performance.
