Permoxin Insecticide Spray & Rinse Concentrate is a highly effective 4.0% permethrin insecticide and tickicide with insect repellent activity for dogs and horses.

Designed for paralysis tick control, flea control, fly nuisance on horses and management of Queensland itch, it can be used as either a spray or a rinse.

Available in 250 mL and 1 L sizes. Registered for use in dogs and horses.

Active Ingredient

Actions

• Highly effective tickicide and insecticide – in laboratory trials, a single application prevented tick attachment for over two weeks and resulted in greater than 98% flea control for 20 days
• Flea and insect repellent – when applied daily to flea allergic dogs, Permoxin repels fleas and gives relief to the itchy dog. Its high safety margin means it can be applied as often as needed to maintain the repellent action
• Binds to the hair coat – binds to clean hair and skin for long-acting effectiveness. Peak activity is maintained by regular weekly top-up rinses to saturate the hair coat
• Resists inactivation by light – giving a longer duration of action than natural pyrethrins, which decompose rapidly on exposure to air and light

Efficacy

Although laboratory trials show 100% control of paralysis ticks for 13 days, it is recommended that dogs be rinsed thoroughly every 7 days, with daily inspections for ticks to ensure good control in a clinical use situation.

Permoxin is NOT to be used on cats.

Directions

Dilute 1:40 (as directed by the label) in water, or in methylated spirits if a rapid-drying spray is required. Spray or rinse as directed.
