Jim Blurton 3D Full Mesh Hoof Pad

Full Mesh Hoof Pad

The Jim Blurton 3D Full Mesh FM Hoof Pad – Flat is designed to provide maximum sole protection and support, particularly for thin-soled horses and horses working or turned out on hard, stony ground.

Designed for use with dental impression material (DIM) or lightweight hoof packing such as Glue-U Shufill, the mesh helps retain and stabilise the packing while providing comprehensive protection to the sole.

Supplied in pairs, in flat sizes 4, 5, 6 and 7.

Maximum Sole Protection

Unlike pads with limited mesh sections, the full mesh design provides extensive coverage across the bottom of the hoof – ideal where the farrier wants to combine full sole protection, hoof packing, frog and sole support, and protection from stones and hard ground.

Designed for Use with Hoof Packing

The mesh structure helps retain packing material beneath the hoof, allowing the farrier to create a supportive interface between hoof, packing and pad. Suitable materials include:

• Dental Impression Material (DIM)
• Glue-U Shufill
• Other suitable lightweight hoof packing materials

Frog & Heel Support

When peripheral loading places excessive pressure through the hoof wall, the frog may receive inadequate support, potentially contributing to heel discomfort in some horses. When fitted with impression material or packing, the Full Mesh FM Pad allows the farrier to provide additional support beneath the hoof, including the frog and caudal structures – useful as part of a professional shoeing strategy for horses prone to sore or sensitive heels.

Protection for Thin & Sensitive Soles

Combined with suitable impression or packing material, the Full Mesh FM Hoof Pad gives farriers a versatile option for supporting and protecting thin-soled or sensitive-footed horses.

Hoof pads and packing materials should be selected and fitted by an experienced farrier or qualified hoof-care professional. Persistent heel pain, corns, sole sensitivity or lameness should be investigated by a veterinarian.
