KelatoLYTE – Scientifically Formulated Electrolyte Replacer

A concentrated, scientifically formulated electrolyte replacer designed to mimic the composition of horse sweat and replace essential electrolytes lost through sweating.

KelatoLYTE is a high-strength electrolyte supplement formulated specifically for horses in work, travel, competition or hot and humid conditions.

Containing 88% electrolytes with no bicarbonate, KelatoLYTE provides sodium, chloride, potassium and magnesium in a formulation designed to replace the key electrolytes lost in equine sweat.

Suitable for daily supplementation according to sweat loss, KelatoLYTE can be top-dressed onto feed or prepared as an electrolyte paste. It may also be prepared as an isotonic drench under veterinary supervision.

Unlike humans, horses can lose large quantities of both electrolytes and water when sweating. Their natural thirst response may not always result in sufficient voluntary water intake immediately following substantial sweat losses.

Per kg:

Directions for Use

Top-dress the horse's feed according to the level of sweating:

Feeding rates are based on a 500kg horse.

Adjust supplementation according to the current product directions and the individual horse's workload and sweat losses.

Electrolyte Paste

To prepare an electrolyte paste, mix:

30g KelatoLYTE with a suitable amount of water or apple sauce.

Mix into the horse's feed as directed.

Isotonic Drench

For an isotonic drench:

Mix 60g KelatoLYTE into 5 litres of water
Equivalent to 12g per litre.

Isotonic drenching should only be performed under veterinary supervision.

Important – Do Not Add to Drinking Water

Do NOT add KelatoLYTE to the horse's drinking water.

Horses should always have unrestricted access to separate, fresh, clean drinking water when receiving electrolyte supplementation.

Important Hydration Warning

Do not administer electrolytes to a horse that is already dehydrated or refusing to drink without veterinary advice.

A horse showing signs of significant dehydration, heat stress, weakness, prolonged recovery or refusing to drink requires veterinary assessment.

Electrolytes replace minerals lost through sweat but do not replace the horse's requirement for water.
