Kelato KelatoLYTE is a concentrated, scientifically formulated electrolyte replacer designed to mimic the composition of horse sweat and replace essential electrolytes lost through sweating.

Designed for horses in work, racing, competition, travel, and hot or humid conditions, with 88% electrolytes and no bicarbonate.

Can be top-dressed onto feed or prepared as an electrolyte paste, or as an isotonic drench under veterinary supervision.

Why Do Horses Need Electrolytes?

Horses lose substantial water and electrolytes in sweat. Electrolytes are essential for normal hydration and fluid balance, muscle, nerve and cellular function, and recovery. Requirements increase considerably with hard work, prolonged sweating, travel, stress and hot or humid weather. Horses' natural thirst response may not always drive sufficient drinking immediately after large sweat losses.

Directions

Top-dress the feed according to the level of sweating (based on a 500 kg horse):

Adjust according to the current product directions and the individual horse's workload and sweat losses.

• Electrolyte paste: mix 30 g KelatoLYTE with a suitable amount of water or apple sauce
• Isotonic drench: mix 60 g KelatoLYTE into 5 litres of water (12 g per litre) – only under veterinary supervision
• Do NOT add KelatoLYTE to the horse's drinking water

Always provide unrestricted access to separate, fresh, clean drinking water when supplementing electrolytes – electrolytes do not replace the need for water. Do not give electrolytes to a horse that is already dehydrated or refusing to drink without veterinary advice. Horses showing significant dehydration, heat stress, weakness, prolonged recovery or refusing to drink should be assessed by a veterinarian.
