Kentucky Gold Drench

Electrolyte, B-Vitamin & Energy Saline Drench

Kentucky Gold Drench is a concentrated saline drench providing high levels of B vitamins, balanced electrolytes, energy from volatile fatty acids and the antioxidant vitamin E.

Suitable for all classes of horse before racing, eventing, endurance, jumping, hacking or any pleasure event – especially when temperatures are high and sweating is likely.

Supplied as 300 g powder in a sealed foil sachet, rapidly and completely water soluble, even in cold water.

What Each 300 g Sachet Provides

• Vitamin B complex
• Balanced electrolytes: sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium, chloride, sulphates, propionate, acetate and citrate
• Vitamin E 2,000 IU

Why a Saline Drench?

B vitamins are essential for energy production during strenuous exercise. Volatile fatty acids provide added energy without producing lactic acid when metabolised, and vitamin E provides antioxidant protection for muscle recovery. Giving a saline drench before strenuous exercise helps ensure fluid balance, energy production and antioxidant protection are operating at optimum levels so muscle recovery is as rapid as possible.

Ideal For

• Racing, eventing, endurance, jumping and pleasure events
• Hot conditions where heavy sweating is likely
• Horses on high-grain and concentrate diets, which are usually deficient in B vitamins
• Horses prone to muscle soreness, tying up or poor recovery (with BC5aa or Alpha Aminos)

Key Benefits

• High levels of balanced electrolytes
• Complete range of B vitamins
• Volatile fatty acids for energy without acidosis
• Vitamin E for antioxidant protection
• Rapidly and completely water soluble
• Can be given with other supplements

Directions

Mix contents in 1–2 litres of water and stir until dissolved. Administer by stomach tube immediately, then allow access to fresh, clean drinking water as soon as practicable. Alternatively, it may be mixed well into feed, or mixed with a small volume of water for oral administration.

Withholding periods (as stated by the manufacturer): meat – nil; racing/event – nil. The manufacturer states it contains no prohibited substances; if in doubt, check with your local racing jurisdiction.

Complete Pre-Race Support

Kentucky Gold Drench combines electrolytes, B vitamins, clean energy and vitamin E in one sachet to prepare horses for hard work in the heat.

Always ensure adequate fresh, clean drinking water is readily available after administration. Stomach tubing should only be performed by a veterinarian. Read the label and consult your veterinarian or the manufacturer if your horse is unwell, pregnant or on other treatment.
