Injectable Vitamin B1 (Thiamine) Supplement

NV B1 Injectable provides a concentrated source of thiamine (vitamin B1) to support energy metabolism, normal nerve function and general wellbeing in horses and dogs.

Designed for performance animals, animals in training and those needing additional vitamin B1 under appropriate veterinary guidance.

Supplied in a 100 mL vial containing thiamine hydrochloride 125 mg/mL.

Why Vitamin B1 Matters

Thiamine is an essential water-soluble vitamin involved in carbohydrate metabolism and cellular energy production. It forms part of coenzymes that convert glucose and other nutrients – including pyruvate – into usable energy, making it particularly important for working muscles, the heart and the nervous system.

Because it is water soluble, the body has limited capacity to store thiamine, so an appropriate ongoing supply is important where requirements are increased or a deficiency has been identified.

Nervous System Support

The nervous system relies heavily on glucose metabolism for energy. Vitamin B1 is sometimes included in nutritional programs for nervous or excitable horses; however, behaviour has many causes and B1 should not be considered a treatment for nervousness unless a nutritional requirement has been identified.

Directions

• Horses: 5–10 mL by intramuscular injection twice weekly, or as advised by a veterinary surgeon.
• Dogs: 1–2 mL by intramuscular injection twice weekly, or as advised by a veterinary surgeon.

Persistent fatigue, weakness, appetite loss, neurological changes or poor performance may have causes unrelated to vitamin B1 and should be investigated by a veterinarian. Injections should only be given as directed by a veterinarian or by an experienced person using sterile equipment. Check the label for withholding periods, and for racing or competition horses confirm detection times with your veterinarian. Do not use in animals with known sensitivity to any ingredient.
