NV Mitachondral Injectable
Mitachondral – L-Carnitine & Amino Acid Injection
L-Carnitine and amino acid supplementation for muscle energy, endurance and performance support in horses and dogs.
Mitachondral is an injectable supplement combining a high concentration of L-Carnitine with the amino acids D-Phenylalanine and L-Isoleucine.
Formulated for horses and dogs, Mitachondral provides targeted nutritional support for normal muscle metabolism, energy production and exercise capacity, making it particularly suited to animals undergoing demanding training and competition programs.
Mitachondral may also be incorporated into a performance management program following regular L-Carnitine supplementation, as directed by a veterinary surgeon.

L-Carnitine & Muscle Energy
L-Carnitine plays an important role in normal energy metabolism, particularly within heart and skeletal muscle.
One of its primary functions is transporting long-chain fatty acids into the mitochondria, where they can be utilised in the production of cellular energy.
This process is particularly relevant during prolonged exercise, when fat contributes significantly to the energy requirements of working muscles.
Maintaining appropriate L-Carnitine availability therefore provides nutritional support for normal muscle metabolism and energy production during exercise.
Exercise & Endurance Support
Hard exercise places considerable metabolic demands on working muscle.
By supporting the utilisation of fatty acids for energy, L-Carnitine can form part of a nutritional program designed to support horses and dogs undergoing regular strenuous exercise, racing, training or competition.
Mitachondral also provides additional amino acids to complement its high-strength L-Carnitine formulation.
D-Phenylalanine & L-Isoleucine
In addition to L-Carnitine, Mitachondral contains:
D-Phenylalanine – an amino acid included in the specialised Mitachondral formulation and associated with pathways involving naturally occurring opioid peptides.
L-Isoleucine – an essential branched-chain amino acid involved in protein metabolism and normal muscle function.
Together with L-Carnitine, these amino acids provide additional nutritional support for animals exposed to demanding physical workloads.
Performance & Recovery
Mitachondral is formulated for use as part of the nutritional management of performance animals, particularly where additional support for muscle metabolism, exercise capacity and recovery is desired.
It may be particularly useful during periods of:
- Hard training
- Racing
- Competition
- Increased workloads
- Demanding exercise programs
- Increased muscle and energy requirements

Important Information
Mitachondral is an injectable veterinary supplement. Administer according to the current product label or as recommended by a veterinary surgeon, using appropriate injection technique and hygiene procedures.
Claims relating to reducing pain perception, preventing tying-up or directly improving athletic performance should not replace appropriate veterinary assessment. Pain, recurrent muscle cramping, tying-up, stiffness or unexplained fatigue may indicate an underlying condition requiring veterinary investigation.
Because pain can be an important warning sign of injury or illness, products should not be used with the intention of masking pain to allow an animal to continue exercising.
Always check current racing and competition regulations before use in performance animals.
