About DL-Phenylalanine

Phenylalanine is considered an essential amino acid in equine nutrition. Because it cannot be synthesised by the body, it must be supplemented whenever it is lacking.

In humans, DL-phenylalanine has been suggested to relieve the pain of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, lower back pain and joint pain, as it may block certain enzymes in the central nervous system that normally break down natural morphine-like hormones.
