Proud Flesh Wound Paste

Proud-AID for Horses is a smooth-textured topical paste formulated to assist in the treatment and prevention of excessive granulation tissue, commonly known as proud flesh.

Designed for use on cuts, wounds and abrasions where proud flesh has developed or may be a concern, the non-irritant formulation adheres directly to the wound, making application simple and convenient.

Proud-AID can be used alone or beneath a suitable non-stick dressing and bandage, and comes with a convenient applicator.

What is Proud Flesh?

Proud flesh is the common name for excessive granulation tissue that can develop during wound healing in horses. It is particularly common in wounds on the lower limbs and can interfere with normal wound closure when excessive tissue grows beyond the level of the surrounding skin.

Directions

Where proud flesh is present, apply a thin layer to the affected area using the enclosed applicator. The wound may be covered with a non-stick gauze dressing and suitable bandage, although this is not essential as Proud-AID adheres directly to the wound. Repeat treatment every 1–3 days until healing is complete, or as directed on the current product label.
