Quit-Itch is a proven and trusted topical antiseptic lotion formulated for the treatment and management of a wide range of common skin conditions and superficial wounds in horses, dogs and cats.

With antibacterial and antifungal activity, Quit-Itch can be used for conditions including Queensland Itch, greasy heel, girth itch, eczema, ringworm and other fungal infections, as well as for the management of minor cuts, abrasions and burns.

Versatile enough to be applied directly to affected areas or diluted for washing and shampooing, Quit-Itch is a practical addition to the stable, tack room, kennel or animal first-aid kit.

Directions for Use

Wounds

For emergency treatment of lacerations, abrasions, wire cuts and burns, dab the affected area with cotton wool or gauze soaked in undiluted Quit-Itch.

Repeat daily for 3–4 days.

Skin Conditions

Clean the affected area using a solution of:

1 part Quit-Itch to 20 parts warm water.

Towel dry, then apply undiluted Quit-Itch liberally to the affected area.

Repeat daily for 3–4 days.

All-Over Shampoo – Ringworm & Eczema

Because fungal infections such as ringworm can spread across the coat and between animals, an all-over wash may be recommended as part of the treatment program.

Dilute:

1 part Quit-Itch to 20 parts warm water.

Rub thoroughly into the coat and allow the foam to remain in contact for 5 minutes.

Rinse and dry, then apply undiluted Quit-Itch to the affected and surrounding areas.

Horses Exposed to Infection

Horses that have been in contact with an infected horse or have shared potentially contaminated equipment should be managed carefully to help minimise the spread of infection.

According to the product directions, exposed horses may be thoroughly shampooed using diluted Quit-Itch daily until the infection has been cleared from the stable environment.

The same principle applies to dogs housed in kennels.

Greasy Heel in Horses

For greasy heel, prepare a solution of:

1 part Quit-Itch to 20 parts warm water.

Use the diluted solution to thoroughly clean the affected heels and soften crusted material as directed on the product label.

Dry the area thoroughly, then apply undiluted Quit-Itch to the affected areas twice daily until the condition has resolved.

Active Ingredients

• Iodophor – 4%
• Povidone Iodine – 1.5%
• Nonyl Phenol Ethoxylate – <25%

Contraindicated for use in kittens under 12 weeks of age.

Ringworm is contagious and can spread between animals, people and contaminated equipment. Appropriate hygiene and environmental cleaning should form part of the management program.
