Redlands Vitasel E 400gm

Redlands Vitasel E 400gm

Selenium & Vitamin Supplement for Tying-Up

Redlands Vitasel E is a highly concentrated blend of selenium and vitamins A, E and B1 for horses that suffer from, or may be susceptible to, tying-up.

Designed for performance horses in early training, young fillies on high oat diets, horses worked after a rest day on full racing rations, and horses returning from a spell into hard work.

Supplied as a 400 g pack, given orally as a drench or mixed in the feed.

Tying-Up – A Common Problem

Tying-up of the muscles, usually of the hind legs, is a complex biochemical change that prevents the release of energy and the muscle contraction process. It can be a problem in performance horses, particularly during early training.

Prevention Is Better Than Cure

A preventative program that is very effective in preventing tying-up or its recurrence can be summarised as:

  • Work the horse each day, with light work even on rest days
  • Feed Redlands Equilyte electrolyte mixture daily
  • Give Redlands Vitasel E orally, as a drench or mixed in the feed, every 28 days – in severe cases it can be given more regularly on veterinary advice

Complete Muscle Support

Redlands Vitasel E offers a simple, concentrated selenium and vitamin program to help manage horses prone to tying-up.

Do not give Vitasel E where other forms of selenium are already being given – selenium can be toxic if overdosed, and the manufacturer takes no responsibility for misuse. The manufacturer states Vitasel E is not a prohibited substance; for racing or competition horses confirm with your veterinarian and current rules. Always read the label before use and feed according to the manufacturer's directions. Consult your veterinarian or the manufacturer if your horse is unwell, pregnant or on other treatment.
