Vetsense Rehydrate for Horses is an electrolyte concentrate that helps maintain and restore normal electrolyte balance after sweat loss from training, racing, competition, travel and hot weather.

Designed for horses in light to heavy work, endurance, travelling and hot conditions.

A concentrated liquid given by oral syringe or diluted in water, available in 1 L and 5 L.

Sweating depletes important electrolytes required for normal hydration and muscle function. Rehydrate contains:

• Chloride, potassium and sodium
• Phosphate and sulphate
• Magnesium
• Glucose

It will not elevate plasma bicarbonate, and the manufacturer states it does not contravene the rules of racing.

• Endurance horses and heavy sweaters

• Ponies (at half dose)

Directions

For horses 450–500 kg:

• Light work: 40 mL (or 40 mL in 2 L water)
• Moderate work: 60 mL (or in 3 L water)
• Heavy work, endurance or heavy sweat loss: 80 mL (or in 4 L water)
• Travelling: 40–60 mL over the tongue 30–60 minutes before, repeat every 2 hours and on arrival
• Ponies under 350 kg: half the above doses
