Kohnke's Own Sprinter Gold Energy-E Oil is a high energy, highly palatable source of Omega-3, Omega-6 and Omega-9 fatty acids with added natural Vitamin E for racing greyhounds.

Designed for greyhounds in hard training and racing, during hot weather and travel, and for fussy eaters, it corrects low or inadequate omega levels in common meat and dry food diets.

Available in 500 mL, 2 litre and 5 litre cans with an in-built pouring spout.

A "Cool" Energy Source

Greyhounds can utilise oils (fats) as a high energy source, even at sprint race speed. Energy-E provides high quality stabilised oil as an energy top-up during training and when panting in hot weather, helping maintain optimum energy levels in the muscles during racing without unwanted "excitable" behaviour. It is easily digested, making it ideal for greyhounds in hard training and where digestive efficiency is reduced.

Balanced Omega Fatty Acids

Energy-E contains an optimum ratio of 1 part Omega-3 to 3.5 parts Omega-6 fatty acids, from a balanced combination of cold-water fish oil and cold-pressed GM-free canola and sunflower oils. This balance supports:

• Natural anti-inflammatory activity within muscles and other tissues (EPA and DHA from fish oil)

Built-In Natural Vitamin E

Vitamin E is a natural, essential antioxidant that is commonly inadequate in greyhound feeds due to low natural content and losses in processing and storage. Energy-E contains 2000 IU per litre of oil-soluble, natural source d-α-RRR Vitamin E – double the recommended minimum protective level of 1000 IU per litre (1 mg Vitamin E per gram of polyunsaturated fatty acids).

Stabilised, Palatable Oil

Energy-E is based on cold-pressed canola oil, a monounsaturated fat that helps protect against oxidation and rancidity. Damaged fats – such as recycled cooking fat, roast dripping or used deep-fryer and barbecue oils – can reduce palatability and digestion and increase the risk of fatty liver. The cold-water fish oil is protected by added antioxidants and gives a slight fishy aroma that most greyhounds love – most will lick it off a plate – making it ideal to tempt fussy eaters.

Directions

Routine supplementation:

• Bitches 25–30 kg: 15–20 mL (¾–1 tablespoon) daily
• Dogs 30–35 kg: 20–25 mL (1–1¼ tablespoons) daily

During hot weather or when travelling (to offset the drain from panting):

• Bitches 27–30 kg: 15 mL morning and night
• Dogs 30–35 kg: 20 mL morning and night

The same rates are recommended for use as a coat conditioner. When introducing Energy-E, increase the amount fed by 5 mL every 3–4 days until the required dose is reached, to allow the digestive system to adjust. Energy-E can be added to dry food or to a meal containing newly introduced powdered supplements to encourage suspicious eaters, or given by oral syringe. Monitor your dog's weight to ensure optimum racing weight.

Active Ingredients

Each 1 L contains:

• Blended cold-water fish oil, canola and sunflower oils – 915 g
• Oil-soluble natural d-α-RRR-tocopherol acetate – 2000 IU

Storage

Energy-E is packed in a specially lined metal can to avoid reactions that can occur with plastic containers and to prevent UV damage. After opening, seal the cap and store in a refrigerator at +4 to +8°C. Do not shake before use – the oil does not settle or separate, and shaking suspends air bubbles that increase the risk of oxidation.
