Kohnke's Own Troppo-Salts is a concentrated electrolyte, antioxidant and nutritional supplement formulated for horses living, working and travelling in hot, humid and tropical conditions.

Designed for horses in Queensland, the Northern Territory and northern Western Australia, as well as heavy sweaters, endurance and performance horses, it helps replace salts lost in sweat and complements grain, hay and chaff diets that may lack electrolytes.

An all-in-one formula – no additional plain salt is routinely required when fed as directed.

Designed for Tropical Conditions

High temperatures combined with high humidity make it harder for horses to regulate body temperature. Sweating is a primary cooling mechanism, but prolonged heavy sweating substantially increases daily electrolyte requirements. Electrolytes are involved in fluid balance, muscle contraction and relaxation, nerve transmission, acid-base balance, hydration and thermoregulation.

Supporting Normal Sweating

Some horses in persistently hot, humid environments develop reduced or patchy sweating. Troppo-Salts provides electrolytes and selected nutrients to nutritionally support normal sweating and heat regulation.

Antioxidants, Zinc & L-Arginine

Directions

Feed according to the current manufacturer's directions, adjusting for workload, sweat rate and environmental conditions. Extra plain salt is not generally needed unless recommended by a veterinarian or equine nutritionist.

Complete Electrolyte Support

Troppo-Salts provides a specialised electrolyte strategy for horses facing the demands of heat, humidity, exercise and travel.

Troppo-Salts is not a treatment or cure for anhidrosis (non-sweating). A horse showing reduced or absent sweating, excessive respiratory effort, weakness, lethargy or elevated temperature should be removed from exercise, cooled as appropriate and assessed by a veterinarian.

Always provide continuous access to clean, fresh drinking water when supplementing electrolytes – electrolytes never replace water, and supplementing without adequate water can worsen dehydration. Feed according to the manufacturer's directions. Horses showing significant dehydration, refusal to drink, weakness, abnormal sweating, heat stress, colic or poor recovery should be assessed by a veterinarian; seek veterinary advice before use in horses with kidney, cardiac or electrolyte disorders.
