Broad-Spectrum Horse Wormer Paste

Virbac Equimax Horse Oral Wormer Paste is a broad-spectrum wormer containing Abamectin and Praziquantel for the treatment and control of major internal parasites in horses, including tapeworms and bots.

Designed to treat large and small strongyles, tapeworms, bots, ascarids, pinworms, hairworms, stomach worms, lungworms and threadworms, including certain resistant strains as specified on the product label, in one convenient, easy-to-administer oral paste.

Supplied in a 35 mL graduated syringe that treats a horse weighing up to 700 kg and allows accurate dosing according to bodyweight.

Parasites Controlled

Large strongyles: Strongylus vulgaris, Strongylus edentatus, Strongylus equinus, Triodontophorus spp.

Small strongyles (including benzimidazole-resistant strains): Cyathostomum spp., Cylicocyclus spp., Cylicostephanus spp., Cylicodontophorus spp., Gyalocephalus spp.

Ascarids: Parascaris equorum
Pinworms: Oxyuris equi
Hairworms: Trichostrongylus axei
Large-mouthed stomach worms: Habronema muscae

According to label claims, Equimax also controls:

Active Ingredients

Each gram contains:

• Praziquantel – 46.2 mg/g

Directions

Administer orally at 1 mL per 20 kg bodyweight (5 mL per 100 kg bodyweight). One 35 mL syringe treats a horse weighing up to 700 kg. Accurate bodyweight estimation is important to ensure the correct dose is administered.

Responsible Worming

Equimax should be incorporated into an appropriate parasite-management program based on the individual horse, property and parasite risk, rather than relying on routine rotation of wormers without evidence of need. A modern program may include:

• Faecal egg count (FEC) testing
• Accurate dosing according to bodyweight

Important Information
