Virbac EquiMAX Evelation
Virbac EquiMAX Evelation
Triple-Active Broad-Spectrum Horse Wormer Paste
Virbac Equimax Elevation is a broad-spectrum oral wormer combining Ivermectin, Praziquantel and Pyrantel for the treatment and control of roundworms, tapeworms and bots in horses — with a particular focus on protecting young horses from mectin-resistant ascarids.
Designed to treat susceptible roundworms (including arterial larval stages of Strongylus vulgaris and benzimidazole-resistant small strongyles), all three species of equine tapeworm and all three species of bots, as well as skin lesions caused by Habronema and Draschia spp. (summer sores) and Onchocerca spp. microfilariae (cutaneous onchocerciasis).
Supplied in a 23.1 mL apple-flavoured oral paste syringe that treats a horse weighing up to 700 kg, allowing accurate dosing according to bodyweight.
Why Three Actives?
Equimax Elevation provides a double action against both nematodes and tapeworms through its combination of three actives. This double action is considered to help delay the onset of resistance to any one of the actives, and the product is registered to treat abamectin, moxidectin and ivermectin-resistant ascarids.
- Ivermectin – broad-spectrum control of roundworms and bots
- Pyrantel – additional roundworm activity, including ascarids
- Praziquantel – targeted tapeworm control
Protecting Young Horses
Foals and young horses have immature immune systems and are more susceptible to worms than older horses. Ascarids mainly affect horses under two years of age and can cause lung damage during migration as well as serious colic. As ascarids are the worm species showing resistance to the mectins, Virbac recommends a combination wormer such as Equimax Elevation for young horses, with use from 6 weeks of age.
