Grackle Noseband

The Zilco Grackle Noseband is a traditionally styled grackle (figure 8) noseband made from matt finish synthetic strapping with a leather-like appearance and a fleece pad at the pressure point.

Designed to offer similar benefits to a drop noseband, grackle nosebands are said to be less constrictive to the horse's breathing because the nose pressure is localised higher up the face. The grackle is named after the 1931 Grand National winner who wore one. Part of Zilco's Training range, it offers the look traditionalists prefer with all the benefits of the synthetic materials for which Zilco is renowned.

Fit & Care

A correctly fitted grackle noseband will have the centre piece (where the straps cross) sitting approximately in line with the end of the horse's cheekbone.
